Growing up with Music - The Rusticucci Method

Psychomotor education

The course is aimed at children enrolled in nursery and primary schools. The Rusticucci Method expresses itself in terms of psychomotor development and spoken language (this requires attention to rhythm, research of different accents) by way of a gentle path, that leads the child to placing attention on rhythm and melody, to search, to learn and to know different accents of words. The melodic aspect allows children to experience the sentence as a movement that develops, grows and comes to an end (comma, full stop).

Every child will be able to dance and sing on a specific theme: the movement will be free or organised, but always fun.

At the end of the course a performance will be organised with children teachers and parents, who will have the chance of enjoying the work done by their children.

Diction, acting, singing

The course is for children enrolled in nursery and primary schools. The main objective of the course is learning to speak precisely in order to be clear in communication. Over history, the Latin language met with local situations; this was the birth of local dialects, that typifies our origin. Children live this moment as a moment of confusion, because they cannot distinguish between the correct language and dialect. Effects are clear and dangerous:

  • difficulty in pronunciation of words
  • difficulty in correct writing
  • difficulty in learning foreign languages
  • insecurity of the person

The need to teach to communicate in a correct and satisfying way is not for an aesthetic outcome: children who attend this course will develop, through and, thanks to, language, self-confidence, sociable and self-assured character.

At the end of the course a recital will be organised and every child can point to his own gained talent.

Music therapy

The Rusticucci Method expresses itself in music therapy too, if, by music therapy, we mean “all those methods that use every form of auditory element with the intent of rehabilitating, educating, improving social, sensory, cognitive, relational and emotional aspects of a person“.

The Method considers music therapy as being a moment of encounter between music and individual, where the therapeutic value is strengthened by moments of musical games and moments of organised listening.

The use of the Rusticucci Method can be found in many professions:

  • educators
(entertainment and education to social relation at any age);
  • psychologists, therapists, psychiatrists
(rehabilitation or re-education for individuals with disability: physical or psychological, innate or acquired in later life);
  • psychotherapists
(psychological therapy for couples, families, individuals or groups);
  • physiotherapists
(motor rehabilitation);
  • speech therapists
(rehabilitation of voice).
